Wing War at Homestead Beer Company August 22

Screen Shot 2015-08-03 at 3.24.41 PMLove wings? Love craft beer? That’s a rhetorical question: of course you do! And you’ll want head down to Homestead Beer Company on August 22 for Wing War!

The event is doubling as the closing event for this year’s Licking County 30 Mile Meal Week. Homestead’s co-owner and brewer Adam Rhodes was part of the founding committee for last year’s inaugural Licking County Local Food Week and created this year’s Wing War to highlight local food, local brews and local ingredients in support the local movement. Wing War will have six competitors: Buxton Inn, the Granville Inn, Moe’s Original BBQ, the Red Oak Pub, Mai Chau and Pappy’s. Each restaurant will compete across three categories: classic, original and local.

Tickets for the event are limited to 150 and are available at Homestead and each of the six participating restaurants. The ticket includes 18 wings, three pints of Homestead’s beers, a custom pint glass and one vote to cast for the “People’s Champion.” Tickets are $25 and 10% of the proceeds will go to Pelotonia.

Wing War will take place at Homestead Beer Company’s brewery and taproom in Heath on Saturday, August 22 from 5-10pm. Homestead Brewing is located on the former Newark Air Force Base at 811 Irving Wick Drive West in Heath.
