New Belgium Clips and Beer TourNew Belgium Brewing is bringing its 2015 Clips Beer & Film tour to Columbus on September 24 for a night of movie watching and beer tasting to benefit local charities.

The Clips film tour is a free event that brings folks together to taste a number of New Belgium’s more unique beer offings while viewing short films created by New Belgium fans. The event will take place at the Columbus Commons and all ages are welcome, but you must be 21 to drink (of course).

“We have most of our flagships beers available along with more esoteric brews like our Lips of faith series. These can be harder to find and Clips offers the best way to try a variety while at the same time watching short films created by New Belgium fans,” said Ian Grzybowski, New Belgium’s Ohio Field Marketing Manager. The Film Noir Stout is a sweet 9% milk stout with hints of caramel and a bitter finish. It will only be available during the festival.

There will be 17 beers available in total, offered either in 3-ounce samples, 12-ounce pours, or cans. Draft options include Coco Mole, Eric’s Ale, Film Noir Stout, Hop Stout, La Folie, Long Table Farmhouse Ale, Pear Ginger, Pumpkick, Rampant, and Tripple. Cans includes 1554, Blue Paddle, Fat Tire, Ranger, Shift, Slow Ride and Snapshot Wheat. Beer tokens cost $1.50 for a three-ounce pour and $6 for a 12-ounce beer. All beer sale proceeds go to the local nonprofit Transit Columbus.

The film portion of the event will last about one hour to one hour and thirty minutes with a break in the middle for a beer intermission. Films were chosen by New Belgium, which accepted submissions until April 2015. Twenty films were selected overall to travel across the country with the brews.

“We asked our friends and fans to make short films that align with our core values…and then we hand-picked a diverse and highly entertaining line-up,” Grzybowski said.

Food trucks Paddy Wagon, Tatoheads and Late Night Slice will be at the event offering food, and guests are also welcome to bring their own snacks or picnics to the event.

“Clips is all about bringing the community together, making new friends and fans, while supporting the local non-profits,” Grzybowski said.

The Clips, Beer & Film tour is a free event that will hit the Columbus Commons on Thursday, September 24 at 7pm. It benefits Transit Columbus and Rural Action. The film will start at 8:30pm.
