Just in time for the Buckeye season opener against Virginia Tech, World of Beer will make its Ohio State University debut at the South Campus Gateway on Monday. The inaugural day-long extravaganza at World of Beer High Street will feature food, beverage, music and tailgating.
The 4,800 square-foot tavern and 4,500 square-foot patio will offer more than 500 bottles and 50 rotating taps, in addition to the same tavern fare menu debuted at World of Beer’s Easton location last month. World of Beer has a third Columbus location in the brewery district.
The bar’s opening will feature a limited release of Barley’s Brewing Bourbon Meyer, a small batch peanut butter chocolate imperial stout aged in charred bourbon barrels. World of Beer High Street will also use their custom stainless steel infusion tower to offer Mad Tree Brewing’s Gnarly Brown Ale infused with coconut and pineapple (leading up to OSU’s Hawaii game – geddit?) for opening week. The bar will regularly infuse brews with herbs, coffee, fruit and other ingredients, and will feature a regular “Ohio Craft Beer of the Month” available daily for $3. The first Ohio brew in the spotlight is Land-Grant’s Stiff-Arm IPA.
World of Beer High Street’s hours will be 11am-2:30am Monday-Saturday and 11am to midnight on Sunday. The bar will also open early for home Ohio State games, offering their BEERunch menu as early as 6:00am.
