Knotty Pine Brewing opened in March with none of their own beers on tap, and in the months since have only offered one, at most two, of their own brews, but with a recent equipment upgrade, the Grandview brewery is planning to greatly increase their own offerings.
The brewery recently acquired a 3.5 barrel brewing system – previously they were brewing on a 1/2 barrel system. A “barrel” is the equivalent of two standard-size kegs, so a 1/2 barrel system produces a mere keg at a time. The upgrade increases their brewing capacity by 600%.
Owner Jay Kessler says the brewery is hoping to up their number of beers offered to five within the next month, with an end goal of reaching ten Knotty Pine brews on tap. Today, their Black IPA is the only house-brewed beer available.
Knotty Pine Brewing is located at 1765 West Third Avenue in Grandview.
