Drunk Brunch: Oddfellow’s Liquor Bar

Written by on September 21, 2015 in Bars, Liquor - 1 Comment

I started writing the Drunk Brunch series to find places with creative cocktails that put the boring mimosa or bloody mary to shame. Three years, five billion calories and almost 70 Drunk Brunch reviews later… I’ve had a lot of mimosas and bloody marys. There have been a few exceptions, but most Columbus restaurants don’t seem to put as much creativity into their brunch beverages as they do the food.

Well, if cocktail creativity is the key criteria, Oddfellow’s Liquor Bar offers the best drunk brunch in Columbus.

Oddfellow Breakfast Cereal Cocktails

Yes, that is cereal floating in my cocktail. Yes, it does get soggy and kind of gross after floating there for a while. But the nostalgic novelty of it is genius. Pebbles and Bam Bam is made with ThreeOlives Loopy vodka, almond milk and fruity pebbles and is reminiscent of slurping the milk at the bottom of your cereal bowl – if your cereal bowl also contained a shit ton of vodka. Powdered Toastman, a reference from Ren and Stimpy (as is the bar’s wifi password, happyhappyjoyjoy) is Bam Bam’s Cinnamon Toast Crunch cousin. No, neither drink will be winning any high-brow mixology awards anytime soon, but both are sure to bring a smile to your face during the relatively low-brow activity of day drinking.

Oddfellows Alcohol Slushies

If soggy cereal doesn’t do it for you, try one of Oddfellow’s slushies – or should I say lushies. Icy alcoholic treats like the Dark N Stormy, Apple Bourbon and Day Wreckerita will also make you feel like a kid again. But like, a drunk kid.

Oddfellows Brunch Buffet

Oddfellow’s all-you-can-eat brunch buffet packs an impressive selection onto one small table: biscuits and gravy, pumpkin french toast, waffles, sausage, bacon, potatoes and baked egg strada. Not only was it all really, really good, but it was also really, really CHEAP; with the purchase of an adult beverage, the buffet is only $6 ($10 without) so for two brunch buffets and two cocktails, our tab rang in at $26, making this the cheapest drunk brunch to-date.

Oddfellows Brunch

Oddfellow’s is located at 1038 N High Street in the Short North. The brunch buffet is offered Saturdays and Sundays from 11am–3pm.
