Zaftig Tasting

The brewery known for its big beers is getting bigger.

Zaftig Brewing, which boasts an affinity for high-gravity ales, is growing from a 3-barrel brewing system to a 15-barrel brewing system, and moving to a new space around the corner from their existing Worthington facility.

The new brewery will be located at 7020a Huntley Road, about a quarter mile from their current location at 545 Schrock Road.

“We will really be neighbors with Inbev,” said co-owner Jim Gokenbach, remarking on the proximity to the Columbus Budweiser plant.

The space totals 6,500 square feet, with 1,400 square feet planned for a tap room which will include a stage and gaming area.

The 15-barrel brewhouse, along with five new 20-barrel fermenters, are expected to be delivered by March. Construction on the new space is set to begin this month.
