Schramm’s Mead is now available in Ohio, the first time the award-winning meadery has distributed outside of its Michigan homebase. Schramm’s will be distributed statewide through Cavalier Distributing.
The meadery was founded by Ken Schramm in 2013 following the success of his book, “The Compleat Meadmaker,” published in 2003.
“The book really helped the mead industry’s train get rolling,” Schramm said in a statement released today about the partnership with Cavalier. “I figured we probably ought to get on board. People really like this stuff.”
Schramm’s will be regularly sending Raspberry, Nutmeg and Ginger meads to the Ohio market, with some special releases potentially making their way to the Buckeye State as well.
Schramm’s was the winner of the 2015 RateBeer “#1 Meadery in the World,” in addition to claiming six of the top 11 places in the Mead category at the RateBeer Best Awards, winning two gold medals, three silver and one bronze medal.

Wine has no history of food safety issues and wine kills human pathogens. For information on the unnecessary, superfluous, duplicate (of licensing and sanitation in liquor codes), and discriminatory (in favor of out of state wineries and in state ones producing grape juice) regulation of Ohio wineries by the Ohio Department of Agriculture please see: http://www.FreeTheWineries.com or http://www.facebook.com/FreeTheWineries
