Taking advantage of one of the last remaining sunny summer days, this weekend I went to Homefare to drunk brunch on their picture perfect Short North patio.

Homefare offers the standard mimosa and bloody mary during brunch in addition to a small selection of cocktails such as Ara’s Request (gin, strawberry lime cordial, lime juice, arak, tonic) and Homefashioned (tequila, agave, lemon swath, burlesque bitters).

Half a dozen breakfast dishes and a few sandwiches and salads round out the limited brunch menu at Homefare, including sausage and biscuits, eggs benedict, banana fosters french toast, and shrimp and grits. I selected the quiche of the day, which was spinach and white cheddar served with a small side salad. It was tasty, though not terribly filling, and my companion’s classic breakfast (eggs, sausage, home fries and toast) was a little underwhelming.

Brunch at Homefare is offered Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm. Homefare is located at 722 N High St.
