New Belgium Brewing’s Clips Beer & Film Tour is coming back to Columbus next weekend for an evening of craft beer and movies under the stars at Columbus Commons.

The free event, now in its seventh year, features short films and a selection of rare New Belgium beers with 100% of beer proceeds benefitting Transit Columbus, a nonprofit working to integrate a public transportation system to improve safety, health, environment and economic strength throughout Columbus. In total, Clips has raised more than $659,000 for nonprofits, including $3,000 at last year’s first Columbus event.

In honor of New Belgium’s 25th anniversary this year, the films featured will incorporate the year the brewery got its start.

“We asked ten filmmakers to incorporate the year 1991 into their film, as a way to salute the year that New Belgium got its start,” said Christie Catania, Clips national special events manager. “The films do a great job of bringing us back to the glory days of big hair, questionable fashion, and outdated technology.”

Clips will feature a selection of some of New Belgium’s most esoteric beer offerings, including thirteen from their Lips of Faith series. Beers will be available in 3-ounce samples, 12-ounce pours, or cans. The full beer list is available online. Food will be available from Paddy Wagon, Late Night Slice and Tatoheads.

The event will kick off at 7pm on Friday, September 23 at Columbus Commons, with films starting at 9pm.
