What happens when you get 20 Central Ohio craft brewers together? It gets DisfunctionALE!

At least that’s the name for the collaboration brew that will be the signature beer for the 2017 Columbus Craft Beer Week, which will take place May 12-20 (click here for more information about the third annual CCBW.) The brewers met last Saturday, April 8 to mash in on the brew at Columbus Brewing Company’s west side production facility. We can thank Mary MacDonald, Executive Director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association, for bringing the many brewers together over the past several months. This year’s collaboration recipe, which was hashed out through meetings and over email between the brewers, will be a hoppy pale ale expected to come in at a very drinkable 5.9% ABV.

Sixty barrels are in the fermenters with half going into kegs and the other half to be canned. The cans will be distributed by Superior Beverage Group with a fair share going to Giant Eagle, the title sponsor for Columbus Craft Beer Week.

Look for the kegs to show up during Beer Week at the participating breweries and, of course, at the final event, Six One Pour: The Ohio Craft Beer Fest, happening May 20 at Huntington Park — click here for tickets.
