Two Central Ohio breweries are bringing home medals from the 2017 Festival of Wood & Barrel Aged Beer.

Zaftig Brewing earned a gold medal for their Wee Heavy in the Strong Dark Beer category, and Wolf’s Ridge got gold for Terre de Sauvage Green in the Wild Beer/Brett category.

Other Ohio breweries medaling at the competition include Dayton’s Warped Wing Brewing (gold for Chardonnay Barn Gang), Cincinnati’s Rhinegeist Brewery (silver for Double Oaked Mastodon) Monroe’s Rivertown Brewing (bronze for Ville de Rivere Geuze), and Listermann’s Brewing (gold for Chickow! Brandy Barrel), the latter of which was also runner-up for the Best In Show award. Listermann won the 2016 Best In Show award and has now brought home medals from the competition in three consecutive years.

The 15th annual Festival of Wood & Barrel Aged Beer was held November 11-12. The competition is organized by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.
