The Columbus Ale Trail is returning for a fourth year to encourage area residents and visitors to the city to support local craft breweries.
Volume 3 of the Ale Trail wrapped up at the end of April with 37 stops and a record number of finishers — almost 2,500 people — more than three times as many as finished Volume 2.
The fourth volume of the Columbus Ale Trail will launch May 11 with 41 participating breweries, just in time for Columbus Craft Beer Week, which runs May 11-19. Unlike previous volumes, Volume 4 does not require visits to both locations for breweries that have multiple locations, such as BrewDog and Four String. Interested Ale Trailers can pick up a free copy of the Volume 4 Brew Book at any participating brewery beginning Friday, May 11.
Want to get a head start? This year there will be eight pre-launch events with the Columbus Ale Trail organizers before Beer Week kicks off. The first chance to pick up the new books will be at Combustion Brewing on Sunday, May 6 from 3-5pm. Stick around for Combustion’s Beers & Bluegrass event at 4pm!

Prizes for Volume 4 will include a glass to be picked up at Experience Columbus after 4 stamps, a keychain from local company Griffen Hollow Studio which can be collected after 21 stamps, and a pennant to be redeemed at The Ohio Taproom after earning all 41 stamps.
New this year to the Ale Trail are Buck’s Brewing, Dalton Union Brewery, DankHouse Brewing, Double Edge Brewing, Endeavor Brewing, Pretentious Barrel House, Random Precision Brewing and Trek Brewing.

When will the glasses for the 2017 tour come in? They apparently ran out. I gave the visitors bureau my email address and was told they would contact me when they come in. That was a month ago! Thanks.
We are unfortunately still waiting for everything to come in. Expect them in the next 3-4 weeks and will send out an email with info ASAP.
I have been to several of these breweries and none of them have the passports! They can stamp—but no passports. How can we get them before more time gets away?
Which breweries do not have passports? As far as we are aware they all do, we recently sent out a restock email and didn’t get anyone who was out. Let me know who doesn’t so I can reach out personally. I know for a fact that Pretentious and Combustion have them.
