ComFest goes local with this year’s beers

At ComFest, the music is local, the artists are local, and this weekend for the first time ever all the beer will be local, too.

“The ComFest Libations Committee feels that this is a natural progression for the festival, bringing even more quality craftsmanship to our community from these local brewers,” the organization said in a statement.

The beer tents at ComFest 2018 will be pouring 100% local beer, including Hilltop Lager and Hilltop Light from Four String Brewing Company; IPA, Summerteeth and Thunderlips from Columbus Brewing Company; and limited quantities of ComFest Kolsch, a collaboration between 2 Tones Brewing, Combustion Brewing and Sideswipe Brewing.

“I think not having a ‘large brewery’ presence makes ComFest feel all the more local,” said Four String owner Dan Cochran in a statement.

These beers will be available at all four festival bars (Jazz, Off Ramp, Lincoln and Peace Village). Mixed drinks and wine will also be available at select bars.

ComFest will take place from noon-11pm on Friday, June 22; 11am-10pm on Saturday, June 23; and 11am-8pm on Sunday, June 24 at Goodale Park. ComFest is free to attend and beer sales help to support the festival.
