Crafted Drafts toasting to five years

Crafted Drafts is celebrating five years of serving the craft beer community in Central Ohio.

Crafted Drafts opened its first bottle shop in the Gahanna area in 2013 and opened a second location — which also features four taps for growler fills — earlier this year in Hilliard. Owner Mike Troy told Drink Up Columbus back in 2013 that he aimed to offer more than 600 varieties of beer and one of the largest single bottle selections in Columbus.

“I value variety over quantity,” said Troy. “Why drink the same beer six times when you can have six different ones?”

Crafted Drafts currently offers more than 750 beers, ciders and meads brewed locally and internationally. Both bottle shops regularly host beer, wine and cider tastings for customers to explore and educate themselves on new and often rare styles of beer; Jeni Britton-Bauer has been to the Gahanna location twice for specialty beer and ice cream pairing events.

In honor of the anniversary, Crafted Drafts is hosting a number of special tastings next week including another Jeni’s pairing on September 19, a Tilquin Sour Geuzue Tasting on September 21, a Dieu Du Ciel! tasting on September 23, and potentially more to be announced later this week. Tasting information and tickets are available at

Crafted Drafts is located at 4245 Hamilton Road in Gahanna and at 4485 Cemetery Road in Hilliard.
