If it’s February, it’s time for the annual Extravaganza celebrating the anniversary of one of Central Ohio’s pioneer craft beer haunts, Bob’s Bar.
Between the 36 taps and a series of cask conditioned ales, Bob’s will be pouring at least 60 different craft beers throughout the 17th Annual Extravaganza on February 23. While the final beer list is still being curated, bar manager Rich Good shared a partial list including an only-available-here collaboration IPA from Columbus Brewing, a series of infused Bodhi pins, plus 3 Floyd’s Zombie Dust, Southern Tier Pumking, Fat Head’s Hop JuJu and Jungle Juice Head Hunter, Jackie O’s Black Mask, BrewDog Pinyin, Perennial Abraxas, Founders CBS, Thirsty Dog BBA Siberian Night with coffee, and more from Hoof Hearted, JAFB, The Bruery, Duval, Saison duPont and Saint Bernardus. The final beer list and timed tappings will be released on the event’s Facebook page one week before the event.
Besides the great craft beer line up, there will be door prizes, food and t-shirts. Each attendee will receive a wrist band upon entering the Extravaganza which will be used for awarding door prizes starting at 6pm. Extravaganza t-shirts will go on sale when the doors open at 10am for $20, but expect them to sell quickly.
The 17th Annual Extravaganza will take place on Saturday, February 23. Doors open at 10am and the beer blast runs for 16 hours with doors closing at 2am Sunday morning. If you failed to get your fill on Saturday, you can come back a few hours later for Survivor Sunday; While all the cask conditioned ales will be gone, there will still be 36 taps pouring the great beers that survived the night.
Bob’s Bar is located at 4961 N, High St immediately south of Graceland Shopping Center.
