Local breweries celebrating International Women’s Day

Several Central Ohio breweries are celebrating International Women’s Day this Friday, March 8 with special beer releases and fundraisers.

Many of the events center around the release of a collaboration brewed this year on Pink Boots Brew Day. This is the sixth year globally and the fourth year locally that Pink Boots Brew day has been celebrated, spearheaded by the Pink Boots Society, an organization that works to encourage women beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education.

Women from more than a dozen Columbus area breweries — including Combustion, Dalton Union, Grove City, Lineage, Olentangy River, Roundhouse Depot, Phoenix Brewing, BrewDog, Endeavor, Nostalgia, Weasel Boy, Zaftig and Outerbelt — came together back in February at Combustion to brew the resulting Stand Strong Double IPA. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pink Boots Society.
