It’s that time of year again — the Fifth Annual Wing Wars returns to Homestead Beer Company on August 25.
Will Moe’s Original BBQ, the three-time defending champion, make it four years in a row? Will Year One winner Mai Chau surge back to the top? Will last year’s runner-up Hog Heads Blue Smoke BBQ up their game to win the crown? Or perhaps past participants, Tennessee Pit BBQ or Lynette’s Country BBQ have fine-tuned their secret recipes over the past 12 months and will vie for the coveted trophy. And let’s not discount the newcomer to the competition, Smokeout BBQ, coming in from Columbus to show the locals who’s boss.
The event takes place at Homestead’s taproom on the former Newark Air Force Base and will include live music from Austin Finley. Tickets are limited and can only be purchased at the taproom. Each $35 ticket buys you 16 chicken wings, three pints of Homestead beer, a custom pint glass, a vote for Best Wings and a guaranteed good time.
Wing Wars will take place on Sunday, August 25th from 5-10pm at Homestead Beer Company which is located at 811 Irving Wick Drive in Heath.
