BrewDog is celebrating the US launch of its Hawkes Cider brand by hosting the inaugural Columbus Cider Fest at BrewDog HQ in Canal Winchester this Sunday.
Seven ciders from Hawkes will be featured at the event: Soul Trader, a champagne-like cider; True Roots, which features mandarin, kiwi and ginger; Big Wow, a subtly sweet, medium-dry cider; Pineapple Punch, with Braeburn apple juice and pineapple chunks; Slam Funk, a full-bodied classic cider; Dead and Berried, a smooth cider infused with strawberry, raspberry and blueberry; and Doom and Bloom, a sweet cider mixed with rhubarb and strawberry. The latter three cider varieties were crafted at the Canal facility and are now available everywhere BrewDog is distributed.
In addition to cider from Hawkes, cider will be available from Ohio cideries Mad Moon, West End and Rhinegeist, as well as DownEast Cider, Shacksbury and Angry Orchard.
The event is billed as family friendly and Columbus alt rock band The Broken Relics will perform. It’s free to attend but if you RSVP online you’ll apparently get a free drink.
Columbus Cider Fest will take place Sunday, October 6 from 12-7pm at DogTap Columbus, located at 96 Gender Rd in Canal Winchester.
