The Beers and Board Games Club (which is run by Drink Up Columbus) will host the fifth annual 24-Hour Board Game Marathon beginning at 11am on Saturday, November 2 at Olentangy River Brewing Company.

The event is part of Extra Life, a global 24-hour gaming marathon fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since 2010, Extra Life has raised more than $50 million to help children’s hospitals; locally, the Beers and Board Games Club has donated over $30,000 to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with the goal of raising an additional $10,000 this year.

The 24-Hour Board Game Marathon will feature hundreds of tabletop board games — from classics to this year’s latest releases from Origins and GenCon. Gamers are welcome to drop in to play for a few hours, or stay for the entire 24-hour event.

Admission to the event is $10, 100% of which will be donated to the hospital, as will $1 from every ORBC beer, 5% of Roosevelt coffee sales and 10% of food sales from partner food trucks Schmidt’s Sausage Truck (serving from 11:30am-2:30pm), Ajumama (serving from 3:30-7:30pm) and Pitabilities (serving from 8-11pm.) Additional donations in support of the club’s fundraising campaign can be made online at extra-life.org/team/bbg.

The Beers & Board Games Club was founded in 2013 by blog Drink Up Columbus. The group currently has over 1,500 members and hosts 5-6 meetups every month at Columbus craft breweries.

The Beers and Board Games 24-Hour Board Game Marathon will take place Saturday, November 2 starting at 11am through Sunday, November 3 at 10am at Olentangy River Brewing Company, located at 303 Green Meadows Dr S in Lewis Center. RSVP on Facebook!
