Olentangy River Brewing celebrates one year Saturday

At the Olentangy River Brewing Company taproom, “brewing’ refers to not just beer but also coffee, so it makes sense that the Lewis Center brewery’s one year anniversary starts early.

ORBC’s First Anniversary celebration kicks off this Saturday, November 16 at 8am with a free pancake breakfast. If you’re as into craft coffee as you are craft beer, you’ll want to be there at 10am for a class in craft coffee brewing with their lead barista, Darren. There will also be a coffee cupping, led by Frank from Roosevelt Coffee Roasters, where participants can taste differences between their coffee blends. Once you are full of coffee, BBQ and beer, put on your running shoes for the Beer Mile run. (Details at olentangybeermile.com.)

Special tappings throughout the day-long celebration include Barrel Aged Hero Red Ale (12pm), a Barrel Aged Irish Stout (2pm), and Barrel Aged I Can’t Feel My Pants (4pm). And make sure you raise a glass to toast the brewery’s anniversary at 5pm.

The Hogback BBQ Pit food truck will be serving from 12-4pm, with Aloha Aina from 5-10pm. Live music from Starts & Stops and Ramey begins at 7pm.

“We are really proud of what we have been able to create within our taproom,” said co-owner Ryan Wilkins in a statement. “It feels like our dreams have been made a reality with the connections that happen here each and every day, and we appreciate the support of our community so much.”

Olentangy River Brewing Company is located 303 Green Meadows Drive.
