Cleveland’s Saucy Brew Works is planning to open a Columbus brewpub at the former site of Caffe Apropos in the Harrison West neighborhood of Columbus.
The 190-seat space, which is targeting an April opening, will feature a brewpub and coffeehouse with indoor and outdoor seating and will be similar to the flagship Ohio City brewpub, founded in 2017 by Brent Zimmerman and Eric Anderson. Guests will be able to enjoy the full menu currently offered in Ohio City featuring New Haven-style pizza, appetizers and sandwiches.
New to the Columbus location is the launch of Saucy Coffee, a craft coffeehouse operated by Saucy Brew Works offering a single-origin house roast, pour overs, espresso, and a specialty menu inspired by Saucy beers.
Saucy began distributing beer in the Columbus market in July 2018. The opening of the Columbus brewpub is part of the brewery’s overall development plans, with three more restaurants slated to open by the end of 2021: one in Cleveland’s Pinecrest neighborhood, one in Detroit’s Brush Park neighborhood, and the largest location to date in Independence, Ohio near Top Golf.
“Saucy’s Columbus location in Harrison West has been a long time in the making,” said Brent Zimmerman, CEO and Co-owner of Saucy Brew Works, in a statement. “We have deep roots over multiple generations in Columbus and wanted to make our entrance perfect.”
Saucy Brew Works will open at 443 West Third Avenue this April.
