Gordon Biersch closes Arena District brewpub

Gordon Biersch abruptly shuttered the doors to its Arena District brewpub this week, in addition to closing several other locations across the coutry.

The chain restaurant and brewery had been open at 401 N. Front Street since 2001, making it one of the oldest breweries in Central Ohio. An email sent to the brewpub’s Passport Rewards Club Members yesterday thanked Columbus for “19 years of craft beer and food.”

Stamps from Gordon Biersch, which had been part of the Columbus Ale Trail since its inception in 2014, will not be required for redeeming the Volume 5 books, which run through April 30, 2020.
