Ohio Brew Haul: drink local, win swag

The Ohio Craft Brewers Association (OCBA) is encouraging Ohioans to buy beer to-go from their local breweries by giving away prizes to a few lucky craft beer drinkers for the remainder of American Craft Beer Week, which runs through May 17.

From May 14-17, OCBA is encouraging participants to post photos of Ohio beer purchases to Instagram with the hashtag #OhioBrewHaul. Ten accounts will be chosen throughout the four-day period to receive prizes provided by the OCBA.

Orders for limited edition Ohio Brew Haul merchandise will also be taken from May 14 through May 31 through the OCBA website with proceeds from each sale split between OCBA and an Ohio craft brewery chosen by the purchaser. Those who purchase Ohio Brew Haul merchandise will also be eligible to earn five bonus passport stamps in the Ohio On Tap app.

A map tool is available online at ohiobrewhaul.com to identify which nearby breweries are offering carry out, home delivery and direct shipping. The tool also provides info on other ways to support local breweries, identifying those that are offering food, selling gift cards or have an online merchandise store.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced last week that breweries, restaurants and bars can re-open outdoor seating starting May 15 and indoor seating starting May 21, though some breweries like Endeavor and Seventh Son have announced they will be waiting longer to resume their on-premise service.

full disclosure: I’m on the marketing committee for OCBA
