Dankhouse Brewing in Newark is under going a major transformation as it approaches its third anniversary.

A recent building addition has doubled their total space, increased inside seating by 50%, quadrupled their brewing space, and added a new space for retail sales. The new brewing space includes the addition of a new 10-bbl brewing system, quadrupling their brewing capacity and tripling their fermentation capacity. With this new capacity, look for Dankhouse to begin mobile canning operations providing six packs to go in the near future. It will also allow them to bump up the number of house beers on tap. And check out the new interior décor: some great new murals by local artist Creeps McPeeks and a swirl epoxy floor coating.

Outside, the transformation continues with a new poured concrete patio area and increased exterior seating. You’ll note a pair of shipping containers along the north edge of the property. One will be opening in a matter of weeks (permitting underway), as a mini-restaurant operated by Mnchs. They will have tacos, burgers, and munchies, along with coffee and tea. On weekends, they will be serving brunch. The second container will serve as an outdoor bar with a half-dozen or so house beers on tap.

As if that’s not enough; in the current planning stage is a disc golf course, expected to be open by next spring. Also in the works is a stage for live music to be built in the hillside embankment. Families will be encouraged to bring a blanket and enjoy the beer, food, and music.

Dankhouse will be celebrating their third anniversary on October 17 including the return of their Breakfast Beers session.

Dankhouse is located in Newark at 161 Forry Street.

Huge project nearing completion. House favorites should cycle around quicker and Josh will be inventing more great beers. Congrats to Heather, Josh and the staff.
