May you always have a clean shirt, a clear conscience, and enough coins in your pocket to buy a pint!
It’s time again for the Dublin Irish Festival – a Dublin staple for 24 years that features authentic Irish food, music, dancing and more. And what Irish celebration would be complete without a bit o’ booze?
There are several opportunities to get a taste o’ the Irish throughout the weekend. Registration is required for all tastings, so you’ll want to get your tickets early as seating is limited. The Dublin Irish Festival also features the Dublin Irish Festival Stout. Brewed exclusively for the Festival, it has a malt and light caramel flavor with a distinctive dry-roasted bitterness in the finish. Festival guests can purchase the Stout throughout Festival grounds. The Dublin Irish Festival Stout was first brewed in 2006 at the Sandlot Brewery, a pilot brewery in Coors Field, located in Denver, Colorado and is now brewed at the 10th Street Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin due to increased demand, though it has maintained its original recipe. The stout is available for a limited time outside the festival, too, at Byrne’s Pub, Brazenhead, Dublin Village Tavern, Crowne Plaza Dublin Hotel, Old Bag of Nails, J. Liu and both Central Ohio Winking Lizard locations.

6 Comments on "Sláinte! 24th Annual Dublin Irish Festival Aug 5-7"
I’m surprised they won’t have Guinness.
The pronunciation is closer to ‘sloncha’ than ‘slaint’
thanks for pointing that out – we don’t want people running around screaming slaint this weekend 🙂
I can’t decide if slaint sounds more derogatory (“She’s such a dumb slaint.”), or dirty (“I kicked him in his slaint.”)….
For an entire summer, my friends Ryan and Sean always toasted with “It’s a lawnchair!” and I had no idea why. I even started saying it, because I’m a sad, sad follower. Finally, I got around to asking what the deal was, and they explained it was their own phonetic interpretation of sláinte.
DUBLIN iRISH FESTIVAL STOUT CURES ALL!
The Day – it’s finally here,
The men – they’re chillin’ the beer,
To fix what is troublin’ ya’,
Get over to Dublin ya’,
The cure – a pint of good cheer!
