Noun: A brewery that produces less than 15,000 barrels of beer per year
The 6th annual Columbus Microbrew Festival is taking place September 16-17 at the North Market.
The event features almost all of the Columbus breweries: Barley’s Ale House #1, Barley’s Ale House #2 (yes, those are two distinct microbreweries with separate brewing systems), Columbus Brewing, Elevator Brewing, Gordon Biersch, Hoster Brewing and Neil House Brewery. (The only brewery missing is Lancaster-based Rockmill Brewery.) Weasel Boy Brewery from Zanesville will also be present. Representatives from each microbrewery will be at the festival to answers questions about their beer.
Admission to the Microbrew Festival is $20 and includes a pint glass, ten tasting tickets and a $5 North Market food certificate. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased on-site for 50 cents. Tickets are available online and at North Market. There is no cost to attend if you don’t plan to drink. Discount coupons good for $2 off the tasting admission fee are currently available at all participating microbreweries.
Live music is scheduled for each day, with The Drowsy Lads and Grace Adele on Friday and Slate Ridge, Miss Molly, Willie Phoenix, Gipson & Fitz and the Shaw Brothers on the bill Saturday.
The beer tastings take place Friday, September 16 from 5-9pm and Saturday, September 17 from 10am-7pm. For more details, visit northmarket.com.
