Arguably the most well known wine event in Central Ohio, the tenth annual Columbus Food and Wine Affair will take place at Franklin Park Conservatory September 21.

The Grand Tasting offers a chance to sample the best of area restaurants and award-winning wines. And while the Grand Tasting is the most known and attended, the Columbus Food & Wine Affair actually spans a series of events, with the Wine Competition, one of the largest in the midwest, having been held August 18. All wines to be poured at the 2012 Grand Tasting were entered into the competition, and those awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medallions will be announced at the Grand Tasting. Cena di Vino, a gourmet wine dinner, will take place the night before the Grand Tasting at the Columbus Museum of Art – tickets are $100 and can be purchased online.

Tickets for the Grand Tasting are $130 and also available online. There are also a limited number of Discover Hospitality tickets available for $195, which include early site entrance, valet parking and a premier chef showcase. Proceeds benefit the WBNS-10TV Family Fund and the Central Ohio Restaurant Association Foundation, among others. The event has raised over $400,000 for local charities in the past nine years.

The Grand Tasting will be held from 6-10 pm on Friday, September 21 at Franklin Park Conservatory.
