columbus-food-and-wine-affairThe Columbus Food & Wine Affair is approaching with a a trifecta of events leading up to the Grand Tasting at Franklin Park Conservatory.

First on the docket is Cena di Vino, an intimate five-course wine dinner featuring Chef Dean James Max from Florida. The evening’s menu will present custom offerings from Whole Foods and Hollywood Casino, paired with select wines. Cena di Vino will take place Thursday, September 19, from 6-9pm at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown. Tickets are $100 each.

The second event is the Discover Hospitality event the evening prior to the Grand Tasting. This preview party features the culinary inspirations of Chef Dean Max paired with exceptional wines. A ticket to the event includes early entrance to the venue, complimentary valet parking, an exclusive showcase of food and wine pairings, a silent auction, live entertainment and a ticket to the Grand Tasting. Discover Hospitality will be held Friday, September 20, from 5-10pm in the Community Gardens at Franklin Park Conservatory. Tickets are $195 each.

The main event is the Food & Wine Affair Grand Tasting, now in its 11th year. Attendees have their choice of more than 400 award-winning wines and access to food from over 50 Central Ohio restaurants. A few Drink Up writers had a chance to attend the event last year, and we had a blast. If you’re into fine wine and food, this is an event for you. The Grand Tasting happens Friday, September 20, from to 6-10pm. Tickets are $130 each.

All events benefit the Central Ohio Restaurant Association Foundation. The Foundation provides educational opportunities for those wishing to enter the culinary and hospitality industry and provides benefits to charities such as the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and the WBNS10-TV Family Fund.
