columbus oktoberfestThis weekend, “beer” is spelled “bier” in Columbus as the 49th annual Columbus Oktoberfest takes over the Ohio State Fairgrounds.

Prominently featured at the event will be authentic German brews Paulaner Oktoberfest, Hofbrau Original and Bitburger. New this year is a Craft Beer Garten that will feature American-made Brooklyn Oktoberfest, Woodchuck Amber Cider, 21st Amendment Brew Free or Die IPA, Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Thirsty Dog Barktoberfest. There will also be a new WineGarten with selections as of yet unannounced.

Enjoy your bier with authentic German cuisine from Schmidt’s Sausage Haus, Juergen’s Backeri and more as live polka music and lederhosen galore combine to create the closest thing to Munich in Central Ohio.

Columbus Oktoberfest runs Friday, September 26 from 5pm till midnight; Saturday, September 27 from noon till midnight; and Sunday, September 28 from noon till 8pm. A full schedule of activities and entertainment can be found on the Oktoberfest website.
