learn-to-homebrewIf you’ve always wanted to brew your own beer but didn’t know where to start, there’s no better time than this Saturday, November 1, which is the American Homebrewer’s Association’s officially designated Learn to Homebrew Day.

Here are a few events happening in Central Ohio to get you started:

The Winemaker’s Shop (3517 N High St) is hosting an outside brew day from 3-7pm. Alex Francis, brewer at Westerville’s Temperance Row Brewing Co, will be brewing a Baltic Porter Lager in front of the shop and answering questions about the process.

Local homebrewing club Scioto Olentangy Darby Zymurgists (SODZ) is hosting events for Learn to Homebrew Day at Gordon Biersch Brewery (401 N Front St) and at Glass Rooster Canner (1673 South State Route 605 in Sunbury), both beginning at 8am. Those wishing to brew at either event must start by 10am, and an RSVP is requested.

The Delaware Homebrewers Association will host an all-day event at Barley Hopsters (1 N Sandusky St in Delaware) from 9am-9pm.
