brewdog columbusIn a post on their website today, BrewDog confirmed plans to come to Columbus and provided extra details to what we shared yesterday.

The Scottish brewery stated that they’ve provisionally agreed to a deal acquiring 42 acres (NOT hectares, whoops) of land in the Columbus area. They will be constructing a full-scale 100,000 square foot brewery which will house a custom 100 barrel brew-house and a state of the art canning machine, as well as a small bottling line for special edition bombers. The brewery will be utilized for BrewDog’s full lineup of beers in addition to special small batches unique to the Columbus brewing operation.

The finished brewery will also house BrewDog’s US offices, a visitor center, a craft beer restaurant and an “epic” taproom.

BrewDog will be hiring over 100 people to work at the new brewery. If you would like to apply for an opening – which include CEO, BrewMaster, VP of Sales, CFO, Brewers, Packaging Operators, Lab & Quality Managers and pretty much every other job that exists in a brewery – you can email a resume to usajobs@brewdog.com.

BrewDog primarily chose Columbus for its US operation because of the city’s ideal location for distribution: about half of the US population is located within 500 miles of Columbus. The brewery was also evaluating Charleston, South Carolina as a possible site.
