Ohio wine and beer returning to State Fair

Written by on July 9, 2015 in Beer, Events, Wine - 1 Comment

ravens-glennButter cows are cool (allegedly?) but we’re most excited that Ohio-made alcohol will once again be featured at this year’s Ohio State Fair.

About two dozen Ohio wines and beers Columbus Brewing, Four String Brewing and Rivertown Brewing will be available at this year’s fair, which kicks off July 29. Alcohol had not available at the fair in modern history until 2011, but now it seems to be a staple among all the other Ohio-made goods that are showcased at the event.

Daily “Meet the Winemaker” events will be held from 11am–2pm at the Taste of Ohio Café with a rotating cast of Ohio wine makers. Note that most of the wines featured during these events will not be available for the rest of the fair.

In addition to the Taste of Ohio Café, beer and wine will be available at the Bricker MarketPlace Building and in the WCOL Celeste Center during adult concerts.

The Ohio State Fair runs July 29 through August 9 at the Ohio Expo Center.

For information on the unnecessary, superfluous, duplicate (of licensing and sanitation in liquor codes), and discriminatory (in favor of out of state wineries and in state ones producing grape juice) regulation of Ohio wineries by the Ohio Department of Agriculture please see: http://www.FreeTheWineries.com or http://www.facebook.com/FreeTheWineries
