Cincinnati will host one of the country’s largest Oktoberfest celebrations this weekend, with Columbus on its heels for next weekend next weekend, but if you need more leiderhosen in your life, Zauber Brewing will host their own Oktoberfest event on Saturday, October 3. This should be good news to people who complain every year about “Oktoberfest being in September.” You know who you are.
The event, back for its second year, is one of the brewery’s two annual German celebrations, the other being Maifest (which actually happens in May). The event was pushed back this year to avoid conflict with Independents’ Day, taking place this weekend in Franklinton.
The event will feature bier from Zauber, Seventh Son, Land-Grant and Revolution (Chicago), spirits from Watershed Distillery, and food from Dog People Franks & Frites, Rime Time popsicles and the Explorer’s Club kitchen at Zauber, which opened earlier this month.
Live entertainment for the event will be provided by rock band Fingers and German alphorn trio Cheese with Music. Brewmaster Cameron Lloyd will be giving free polka dance lessons, there will be a stein hoisting competition, and the brewery will be giving away German Tyrolean hats to the first 100 attendees.
Zauber’s Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, October 3 from 4-9pm in the street adjacent to their brewery, located at 909 W. Fifth Ave in Grandview.
