24 hours of beers and board games

Beers And Board GamesThe Beers and Board Games Club (organized through Drink Up Columbus) is hosting a 24-hour gaming marathon on November 7 to benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The event is part of Extra Life, a global 24-hour gaming marathon fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since 2010, Extra Life has raised more than $14 million to help children’s hospitals. Beers and Board Games Club has already raised over $500, and hopes to raise a few thousand more by the end of their event.

The November 7 event will feature dozens of tabletop board games and even a few console games like Mario Kart and Rock Band. Gamers are welcome to stay for the entire event, or just drop in to play for a few hours.

For a donation of at least $20, attendees will receive a wristband good for discounts at and after the event. During the event, attendees with a wristband will get discounted bar drinks from Zauber and discounted coffee drinks from Zauber’s newly-opened Das KaffeeHaus. The Beers and Board Games Extra Life gaming marathon will take place from 11am on Saturday, November 7 through 11am on Sunday, November 8 at Zauber Brewing Company, located at 909 W. Fifth Ave. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP on Facebook!

Beers and Board Games Club is also selling some super soft shirts through local apparel crowdfunding platform Outfit Good leading up to the event, and $10 from each of the shirts sold will go to Nationwide Children’s Hospital through the group’s Extra Life campaign.
