Irish or not, one is still lucky to celebrate with the many events happening in Columbus on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Whether it’s green or craft beer, basketball or arcade games, cookies or corned beef, it’s pretty easy to find a personal pot of gold. Actual Brewing Company ABC is celebrating the holiday with extended hours, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and an extremely limited bottles of Bourbon Barrel Aged Resistor Irish Red Ale. Food trucks will be on site and a firkin of One Line Coffee available as well. Event page
Barley’s Brewing Company The 17th isn’t just for celebrating St. Patrick. It’s also for celebrating the opening of Brewcadia, a new arcade bar located above Barley’s featuring over 30 arcade games. Festivities start at 4 p.m. Event page
Byrnes Pub The pub will be ringing in the holiday (literally) with musical performances throughout the day from Two 2 Many, Shamrock Club Pipes and Drums, The Drowsy Lads and The Rice Brothers. Full schedule can be found here.
Fadó Irish Pub The Easton restaurant will open bright and early at 7 a.m. for Kegs and Eggs at 8 a.m. $5 cover until 10 a.m., includes cost of breakfast, with a $10 cover afterwards. Their heated tent will host live music stages, bars, beer gardens and food stations. Throughout the day, The Irwin Academy of Irish Dance and Millennium School of Irish Dance will provide authentic entertainment as well.
Hamptons on King Specials starting at 6 p.m. include $2 green beers, $5 Guiness pints, $5 plates of corn beef, potatoes and cabbage and $6 Irish Car Bombs.
Lineage The bar will pen at 11 a.m. and offer their brunch menu until 2 p.m. Irish car bombs and Loughran’s Irish Stout will be available for $3 until 9 p.m. and The Shamrock Club Pipes and Drums will take the stage again at 5:30 p.m.
North High Brewing Doors will open at noon for not just the holiday, but March Madness games too. Root for your favorite team with a $4 pint of green beer in hand. Their imperial red ale will be on tap and milk stout available for car bombs.
Pigskin A flatbread and sandwich special will be offered, and can be washed down with their “Fighting” Irish Stout on nitro and plenty of Jameson flowing for all.
R Bar Arena The hockey bar will offer pre-game festivities including half-price pizza from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and green beer. $4 Stinger Bombs, $5 Labatt tallboys and $2.50 Yuengling bottles will be offered as well.
Tilted Kilt The pub chain will be offering their Irish-themed menu all March long, including favorites such as Irish stew, corned beef hash and eggs, corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sandwich and their “Hooley Dip” made of, you guessed it, corned beef, sour cream and horseradish. Drinks such as their Irish Margarita and Lucky Green Shot complete the meal.
Village Idiot The bar will be opening at noon. Daredevil Dogs will have a special on their dogs and there are plenty of bar specials to wash it down — including $3 Guinness; $3.50 Bushmills, Jameson and Tullimore Dew; $6 Car bombs; $7 Green beer pitchers; and $3 Sam Adams Rebel IPA.
The Walrus $4 Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey and bangers and mash specials will be available all day long. The night will be capped off with live music and a late night dance party starting at 9 p.m.
Wolf’s Ridge Brewing Opening at 11 a.m. with their lunch menu and continuing throughout the day with Happy Hour specials all day along with food and drink specials and March Madness.
St. Patrick’s Day Plaza Party At Battelle plaza, on the corner of Nationwide Boulevard and Front Street in Arena District, there will be food, drinks and prizes following the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Live music will be provided by Cyril Scott Pipe Band at 3 p.m. and the Shamrock Club Pipe and Drum Band at 4 p.m. Bars and restaurants in the Arena District will also have celebratory food and drink specials.
St. Patrick’s Day Beer & Girl Scout Cookies Tasting House Wine’s tasting this week will be beer instead of wine in celebration of the holiday. For $15, patrons can sample Arbor Brewing Company beer — including their Strawberry Blonde, Buzzsaw IPA and Jackhammer Old Ale — and Girl Scout cookies from local troops. A take-home glass is included in the price. Limited additional quantities of the cookies and beer will be available for purchase too.
Granville St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl On March 19, eight local Granville bars and restaurants — Broadway Pub, Buxton Inn Tavern, Day y Noche, Granville Inn Tavern, Liquid, Moe’s Original BBQ, Snapshots Lounge and Taco Dan’s — will participate in a pub crawl, starting at 11 a.m. and going until closing time. The establishments will offer individual food and drink specials, along with live music at some. A pub crawl commemorative T-shirt can be bought for $15 at Granville Inn Tavern.
