Middle West Spirits brought home high honors from the Berlin International Spirits Competition, nabbing the US Distillery of the Year award in addition to a Double Gold Medal and Best in Show accolade for their OYO Bourbon, Michelone Reserve, and four more medal recognitions.
The 3rd Annual Berlin International Spirits Competition was held on February 21-22 in Berlin, Germany. Nearly 200 spirits from around the world were entered in the competition.
In addition to United States Distillery of the Year and Double Gold/Best in Show for OYO Bourbon, Michelone Reserve, Middle West received a Gold medal for OYO Dark Pumpernickel Rye Whiskey; Silver for OYO Vodka; and Bronze for both OYO Oloroso Wheat Whiskey and OYO Unaged Rye Whiskey, Barreling Strength.
“We’ve worked hard to distinguish the OYO brand both here in Ohio and in outside markets,” said Brady Konya, co-owner of Middle West Spirits in a statement. “Recognitions from highly visible markets in the US and abroad further our efforts to showcase the distilling chops we have in Columbus.”
