What’s better than a beer and a movie? Lots of beers and lots of movies. This weekend there will be plenty of both at the Studio 35 Comedy Film Festival with features and shorts from around the world all weekend.
The event kicks off at 6pm on Friday with a social hour followed by a feature out of Peru called “Just Like in the Movies” at 8pm and a short called “Dirty Work” from Hungary. After the movies, improv group #Hashtag Comedy will perform. $10 admission for Friday includes all movies, improv and food from La Tavola.
Saturday starts at 4:30pm with the Shorts Program, featuring great comedy shorts from around the world. From 7-9pm Ohio filmmakers will be featured in the Ohio Shorts Program. At 9pm the feature “Dumbbells” from the US will be showed, and at 11:30pm the comedy classic “Spaceballs” will screen sponsored by Harpoon Brewery, with $4 pints of Harpoon’s UFO available. $5 admission gets you all these Saturday flicks.
Sunday begins at 4pm with a quirky feature from Romania called “Billion Star Hotel.” From 6-8pm another round of shorts form around the world will be shown, then at 8:15pm is the Ohio premiere of “Non Stop to Comic Con”, featuring Columbus native actor Adam Young, who will be in attendance. $5 admission for all the Sunday fun!
Since its at Studio 35, there will be plenty of great craft brews on tap for the entire weekend, but specific draft offerings and specials are still being finalized.
