Great art meets great beer in Springfield this Wednesday.
On Wednesday, December 13th, Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company will host their Second Annual Christmas Benefit featuring the glass art of Doug Frates. Frates, a Marine Corp veteran, was selected by Art Glass Today Magazine as one of the best glass artists in the world. Frates is donating 20 art glass pieces, with 15 being part of the silent auction and five during a live auction. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Young Marines, an organization that strengthens the lives of America’s youth. One of the live auction pieces will be a limited edition American flag created by Frates. A similar piece by Frates hangs in the Pentagon!
Mother Stewart’s, located just 45 minutes west of Columbus, was selected as one of the country’s best new breweries in 2016 by Beer Advocate Magazine. Their “Class of 2016” pared the 861 new craft breweries down to the best 34, and that included Mother Stewart’s.
Doors for the event open at 4pm. The Young Marines Color Guard will present the flag at 5:30pm, and the live auction starts at 6pm. In addition to Mother Stewart’s fine beers, appetizers will be provided and a food truck will be serving on-site until 10pm.
Mother Stewart’s is located at 109 W. North Street in Springfield, Ohio.
