The recently opened Nocterra Brewing Company in Powell is ready to roll out cans of craft beer.
First off the canning line is Beta Flash, a citrusy New England IPA dry-hopped with Mosaic, Citra and El Dorado hops clocking at 6.7% ABV. The brewery will begin selling the 150 canned cases at their taproom on March 10* and the brewery will open an hour early at 11am for this taproom-only release.
“Expect a new beer in cans every couple weeks while we build up our lineup,” said James Knott, co-owner and Director of Sales & Marketing for the brewery. “We have five or six core beers that we want to have available in cans year-round. However, we love experimenting, so expect a special release can at the taproom at least once a month.”
Nocterra is the first brewery in Delaware County to utilize a canning line to package its beers.
“The canning line was a very important and personal part of our plan,” said Knott. “We all have young families, and because of that, we can’t always make it out to breweries. A lot of the beer we enjoy is in cans at home or with friends after enjoying some time outside hiking, skiing or mountain biking. We wanted a way that someone could throw Nocterra beer in a backpack or cooler for their next big adventure.”
Cans remaining after the release will be distributed to local bottle shops and restaurants.
Nocterra Brewing is located at 41 Depot Street in Powell.
*Since this is the first time running the canning line, Nocterra says there is a possibility of delay and the back-up date for the release is March 17.
