Locally-owned spirits brand Karate Cowboy has released its second flavor, Ginger Mint.
The company launched in September with a Honey Wasabi-flavored spirit designed for the sweet-and-spicy shots market. Company President Mark Tinus says that beyond shots, Karate Cowboy is finding success with local bartenders as a cocktail ingredient. The new Ginger Mint flavor is designed with a mojito in mind, and Tinus says many local bars are planning to feature it on spring cocktail menus.
Both products comprise a blend of Japanese sake (Karate) and American spirits (Cowboy). Karate Cowboy is currently utilizing a co-packer in Kentucky to produce its spirits, though Tinus says the brand in discussions with a local distillery to bring production to Columbus.
The new Ginger Mint flavor is now available at the Arena Wine & Spirits, and is expected to hit the Grandview Yard Giant Eagle, Campus Liquors, Gahanna Giant Eagle and Northern Lights liquor stores this week.
