Got nuts? Watershed wants ’em

Watershed Distillery is asking the community for help procuring black walnuts.

According to the distillery, this year’s black walnut harvest is lighter than expected due to the summer’s heavy rains. Watershed needs the walnuts in order to produce Nocino, their Italian-style walnut liqueur.

The distillery is asking members of the community who have black walnut trees growing on their property to help them gather the green, unripe walnuts that are prevalent at this time of year. If you think you can collect at least 25 pounds of green nuts before July 16 and you’re willing to part with them, you can email info@watersheddistillery.com for further information.

To ensure production standards are met, some restrictions and rules apply.
